Medico-Legal

Clinical Psychologists are educated to doctorate level in the psychological assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions across the lifespan. Our Clinical Psychologists have expertise in providing medico-legal assessments, reports and expert opinion for adults who may have suffered psychological harm following personal injury and clinical negligence. We also provide assessments for criminal cases and employment tribunals, where appropriate. Our Clinical Psychologists engage in regular continuous professional development and supervision. We only provide expert opinion on clinical presentations we see in our practice.

Aberdeenshire Clinical Psychology specialise in adult mental health including post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, depression and adjustment disorders. We also provide adult neuropsychological assessments. Our Clinical Psychologists provide objective, unbiased opinions on matters within our areas of expertise for claimants, defendants and joint instructors. We also provide assessments for insurance companies. Psychological opinion can be provided in relation to causal effects, prognostic questions, treatment options and any need for further assessment. We are qualified to comment on and defend in Court our opinions with respect to psychological interventions (including therapeutic modality, expected number of sessions and costs) because we have direct experience of providing these treatments.
